About Me...
My name is Phaedra Fairwell and I am finally living in downtown Duncan, though I have called Shawnigan Lake home for the past 20 years.
I have been teaching in the Cowichan School District since February of 2005 (but was teaching in the independent school system for several years before that).
Kindergarten and Grade One are my favourite grades to teach!
I have previously had classrooms at AB Greenwell, Discovery and Maple Bay and am now very much enjoying being at Crofton. I am thrilled to be starting my 6th year at the same school!
I lived and taught in Japan for almost two years - from September 2009 to March 2011 when we returned home because of the aftermath of the Great Tohoku Earthquake.
I have completed my Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education with a focus on assessment practices in the primary classroom.
I have a husband (Ian) and two children - a boy, Taran (24) and a girl, Joisan (21).
I have celiac disease so please understand if I turn down treats as I cannot risk having any gluten!
Fun Fact: I try to swim every day before I come to school!
