Our typical day...
Our days tend to be structured very similarly, with only a few variations for special instruction (music, library, walks). Often the blocks will blend into each other to allow for deeper learning opportunities. It is my firm belief that the learning we do through play is the learning that sticks with us, and therefore much of my program is done playfully. You may notice that our "work" time looks very much like play - but we like it best that way! By the end of the school year I assure you that you will notice tremendous growth!
The days are typically divided like this: (our times are being adjusted this year so please check back in mid-September as I will have more accurate times by then)
8:30 - 9:15 Block 1 - usually a literacy focus
9:15 - 10:00 Block 2 - usually theme or literacy focus
10:00 - 10:15 Wash up and snack
10:15 - 10:30 Daily Physical Activity
10:30 - 11:15 Block 3 - usually a math focus
11:15 - 12:15 Lunch play time & eating time
12:15 - 12:45 Block 4 - Back and Forth Folders / science or socials / investigations
12:45 - 1:50 Block 5 - Centres time - free play
1:50 - 2:15 Clean up / Story & Songs / Reflections / Goodbyes
If for some reason you need to pick your child up early, please let me know via the class messanger app or a note in the agenda.
